About Hope Heals Therapy

Hello, I’m Jamie! Nice to meet you! I have been practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist for the last six years. I have enjoyed community- based agency work and independent contractor work and I am currently so excited to be managing my own private practice. I enjoy working with families, teenagers and kiddos, and couples. I’m becoming more versed with serving the perinatal population and their systems, especially as I have just entered motherhood myself. As I learn more about perinatal mental health and wellness, professionally and personally, I am honored to work with new parents, especially mommas who need some extra care and understanding as they make such a big life transition. I’m also engaged in advocacy work to further the MFT profession and perinatal mental health awareness, along with other important mental health advancements, locally and federally.

I grew up in Albuquerque and studied at New Mexico State University. I am happily married and the mom of two cats. I’m joyfully a new mommy to our sweet blessing. I love everything British and royal. I love golfing, fishing, cooking, and traveling. That’s a little about me; I’m excited to meet you!

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I operate within a systems perspective, seeing all of the systems that we are a part of and that impact us. We are individuals that function within families, work environments, school systems, community groups, and the greater society and culture. By focusing on our place within the world around us, we are able to recognize and practice skills, boundaries, and communication that allow us to represent ourselves, our values, and our systemic impact. I work best with individuals and families who are dealing with anxiety, depressed mood, stress, suicidal thoughts, family and other relationship issues, and self- esteem struggles, among other barriers and difficulties. I work with children, ages 7 and up, adolescents, and adults. I believe that together, the therapist and client will work to formulate goals based on the client's needs to create their healthiest self. I use a strengths- based perspective to help clients grow and gain new viewpoints from the strengths and skills they already possess. I believe that hope helps drive change and encourages the smallest steps towards meeting goals.

I am an LGBTQ+ ally! While my own experience is not within the community, I work diligently with cultural humility trainings and community- based trainings to manage an open, caring, growing understanding of all peoples and perspectives. My office is a safe space.

Hello, My name is Cardinal Rieger and I joined the clinical mental health profession in 2016 after working in marketing and public relations for a newspaper for two years, serving in the United States Peace Corps for three years, and working as a public educator for 25 years as a teacher, instructional leader, principal, district level administrator, and school social worker.

Therapy is taking positive action in learning more about yourself and how you function in the world around you. As a lifelong learner, I encourage and support others in realizing this opportunity that can support happy and healthy lives. Life is a journey and not a destination, and we should always be learning. My philosophical approach in clinical therapy is teamwork—it is your work, and I am your coach. I will work to empower, inspire, and make conscious that which is unconscious in you. My strengths-based systems perspective focuses on problem solving, goal setting, improving communication, and homework to support you and perhaps your family in developing and sustaining positive relationships. I look forward to collaborating with you!
